SID : hello, Sid Roth here with Tommy Welchel, and Tommy, in the commercial break you were telling me some dreadful things, you have seen folk that were born with harelips where their lips were split and they have good cosmetic surgery today, but back the time of Azusa Street Revival they did not have pretty good cosmetic surgery, let me know about folks that had harelips.
TOMMY : Well brother Langford, his main thing he loved to pray for if he seen anybody come in there with the harelip and some of those were growths that, not only would there be a harelip here but some of the gum would be gone, and where the gum was gone there were no teeth there.
And I asked Sister Langford about how many of these do you think he prayed for, she asserts oh not so many, many a hundred a year.
SID : a hundred a year? Now as this instant or gradual?
And bro Langford was quite a person of faith, and I love the stories of teeth with Sister Lucille.
SID : let me know about that?
TOMMY : She was four foot ten, and just as feisty, like a little bandy hen, she would pray for these teeth, she loved to pray for folks with teeth, I can't tell you all the stuff she would let me know about the teeth, many of them were pretty bad, but she revealed she would pray for them and they had a bad
SID : Well that was before dentists, before folk went to dentists on such a regular basis.
That was a game for her ; she enjoyed that.
SID : How would you like to play that game, I want to play that game.
TOMMY : Well now that was generally Sister Carney, she loved wheelchairs, now plenty of them did this too, but she was sort of the ringleader of them.
SID : yup, the flap is so that the foot has a place to remain.
TOMMY : Yes.
SID : But is the flap is there it'd be tough to stroll out of the chair.
TOMMY : To get up? She thought it seemed to be a lack of faith if you did not put that flap up, so she would put them up, and she prayed for one man that I adore, I got to meet the man, his name was bro Aubrey, she prayed for brother Aubrey, he had these huge braces on, and she prayed for him and she revealed,'Get up and walk.' And he claimed,'I can't, these braces are too heavy.' So she had the people with him to take off those braces,'Now get up and walk.' This was about 1908, or 09, he got up and walked, and he was healed. And he set up a sky pilot program.
TOMMY : Oh many got up out of wheelchairs, not only when Seymour, you have got to recollect Seymour was only one man, he only preached three times each day.
SID : Only 3 times each day, 7 days each week.
TOMMY : Yeah, 7 days a week. SID : And you are feeling sorry for yourself Mr. Priest. Listen to that, that's normal but go ahead.
TOMMY : Now of course at this time he'd have mass healings, Seymour would, he would say,'Everybody here on cots, tonight everybody that's's here on a cot is going to get healed.' The he would say,'I command you in the Name of Jesus to be healed in Jesus Name.' And all on cots got up. If he said wheelchairs
